Three Ways To Celebrate Mom This Mother’s Day

PI ARTICLE May 06 CelebrateMothersDay v1

We all know there’s no love like a mother’s love. So, this Mother’s Day make sure to let your mom know just how much you truly love and cherish her. Here are three ways to celebrate mom, or the mother figure in your life, this Mother’s Day.

Host (Or Go To) Brunch

Since Mother’s Day in the United States is always celebrated on the second Sunday in May, you can take part in everyone’s favorite Sunday activity – brunch! And the great thing about Mother’s Day brunch is that you can either host an intimate gathering in your home, take mom out to her favorite restaurant, or even do a virtual Mother’s Day brunch if the whole family is unable to get together this year. You can also surprise your mom with breakfast in bed because who doesn’t love that?!

If you’re hosting Mother’s Day brunch this year, make sure to have all of your mom’s favorites ready to go. It’s also a nice gesture to get mom a bouquet of flowers for Mother’s Day, too. You can even use the flowers as the centerpiece for the table. For those of you going out for Mother’s Day brunch, make sure to call mom’s favorite restaurant and schedule a reservation in advance since seating capacity may be limited. And if you’re doing a virtual family brunch, have takeout delivered to your mom’s home so she doesn’t have to cook on Mother’s Day. After all, this is her day.

Spend Quality Time With Mom

As much as you love your mom, chances are that she loves you that much more. That’s why spending quality time with her will be sure to light her up. So, this Mother’s Day weekend do some of your mom’s favorite activities with her. You can take her out for a day of shopping and treat her to lunch, spend the day baking family recipes that have been passed down through generations, or even just relax on the couch and do an all-day movie marathon. Just make sure to bring the popcorn and beverages!

And if you and your mom aren’t able to get together in person this Mother’s Day, there are still a number of creative virtual Mother’s Day ideas that will allow you to spend quality time together, even when you’re physically apart. You can take a virtual cooking or painting class together, play an online game while talking on the phone, or have a virtual tea party.

Shower Mom With Love, Affection, and Feel Good Gifts

While there’s certainly an art to gift giving, it’s important to remember that it’s often the simple things in life that are the most meaningful. The gift you give your mom should be a little gesture to let the person who has always been there for you when you needed her most know that she’s appreciated on Mother’s Day, and every other day. You can buy mom a new plant or tree that she can add to her garden, book a spa day for her so she can get some much-needed relaxation time in, or you can even take her on a mini vacation so you can go on an adventure together and create some new memories.

Or, if you know that your mom is more the sentimental type, you can make her a handmade Mother’s Day card and write a sincere, heartfelt message inside, make a scrapbook for her so she can look through and see beautiful family memories whenever she’d like, or create a video or slideshow with her favorite family photos. Another fun idea is to create a Mother’s Day scavenger hunt that the whole family will be able to take part in.

You can also do nice things for your mom like being her chauffeur and driving her around anywhere that she’d like to go, cleaning her house so that she doesn’t have to, or making her favorite dish for dinner. Keep in mind, it’s not the amount of money that you spend on the gift that matters, it’s the thought that goes into it that will truly make it special for your mom.
